Contact Lenses
Contact Lenses
Contact lenses are nothing but an accessory which can actually be placed on the cornea directly to have better view rather than having regular spectacles. The issues like the distance between eyes and the lens and distortion which occur with regular spectacles have been nullified with contact lenses. Also with the spectacles the distance between two objects can also vary as against the accurate distance with contact lenses.
There are two types of contact lenses. One is rigid gas permeable or otherwise called RGP and the soft contact lens. These both contact lenses can actually be used to rectify all vision problems, like myopia, hypermyopia, presbyopia as well as astigmatism.
Soft contact lenses are actually more comfortable and easy to use and hence it has been widely used by my around 80-85% of the contact lens users. RGP lenses can be worn when the contact lenses has to be worn for very long time in a stretch.
Wearing the correct contact lens actually depends on what your ophthalmologist suggest to you. You should actually tell him/her that you are actually planning to wear contact lenses rather than spectacles so that he/she will examine your eyes and tell you whether your eyes are best suited for contact lenses or not.
